This Terms and Conditions document governs the use of The ToolShed Web Store Service. This Agreement can be accessed at any time from the footer of any page of the website.
Terms of Trade
The ToolShed owns and operates this website www.thetoolshed.co.nz and is located in New Zealand. Contact details for each individual store can be found by clicking here.
Acceptance of Terms
When you access this site, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms described below. If you do not agree to the terms discussed here, you should exit the site and refrain from placing any order.
Contract, Payment and Delivery
Orders will be accepted by The ToolShed, for delivery in New Zealand only. Payment is to be made in NZ currency. Any contract arising from this site is governed by the laws of New Zealand.
Product specifications may vary from what is advertised.
Product Availability
Products may be added to or removed from the website from time to time. While we do not accept liability for any loss arising, every effort will be made to keep the information up to date and accurate.
Products marked as 'in stock' on the website may not be available in all stores but can be ordered from their respective supplier.
Where stock is limited at a special price we are unable to provide rainchecks.
Pricing
All prices in the shopping areas are in New Zealand dollars (NZ$) and include GST (15% sales tax). Prices may increase or decrease from time to time. Prices shown at the time of purchase are the prices you will pay. You must pay by Mastercard or Visa. We will not accept cheques or cash on delivery. The ToolShed takes no responsibility for pricing mistakes etc.
The ToolShed strives to provide Kiwis with the best prices on their tools, accessories and consumables. If you find a lower price on an item held in stock by an authorised New Zealand dealer, we will review the price and endeavour to match it.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PRICE MATCHING
Promotions
All products are priced at 'trade price' known as 'Retail Trade Price' (RTP). GoodMates receive a further discount on selected items (see GoodMates).
Any discounts from retail pricing are based on savings from The ToolShed's Trade Retail Price.
Any 'cost +' promotions are based on our dealer net prices and excludes any other negotiations and standard terms and conditions with suppliers.
Any redemptions are not in conjuntion with any other offers. The customer agrees to take full responsibility for claiming any redemptions from the brand's (e.g. DEWALT, Makita etc.) website.
Items where we have low or no stock may be excluded from storewide or category wide sales.
If you have purchased a product within and we lower the price on a promotion within 14 days please contact us and we will give you store credit for the difference.
Pricing and Images on the website might take up to 24 hours to be updated or formatted
Purchasing
Products displayed on The ToolShed shopping site can be purchased using secure online Mastercard and Visa transaction facility.
We also accept our gift cards, Afterpay and ZIP online.
The ToolShed reserves the right to abort a sale at any point.
Payment
Payments are made using Windcave, in association with Westpac.
The ToolShed do not collect or store any credit card information. This information is all processed by Windcave. When making a purchase you will be directed to a secure webpage hosted by Windcave to enter your payment details. Payments are 3DS secure, to offer the maximum amount of online protection. Fraudulent payments are dealt with by your credit card issuing company (bank) and are not the responsibility of The ToolShed.
We only accept gift cards, Afterpay and ZIP online. Finance Now can only be processed in store currently.
You cannot order online from our Pacific partner stores and not all products are available in store.
All payments made by puchase order (charge accounts) are subject to individual approval.

Registering (Login)
You will be asked to register as a member of The ToolShed. Apart from the many member benefits, including receiving regular emails containing special deals, your shopping address details will be filed saving you the effort of entering these details each time you go to the checkout.
As a registered customer we will send you emails and updates from time to time to inform you of new products, special offers and demo days. Please note, you are able to unsubscribe from our email updates at any time.
Registering also joins you up to our GoodMates club.
Reviews can only be placed by members of our GoodMates club. The ToolShed reserves the right to publish reviews. Reviews may be vetted.
GoodMates
GoodMates are eligible for a 10% discount on selected products. This generally includes all stocked hand-tools, accessories (excluding storage) and consumables. It does not apply to products that are discounted, on special or sold in sets.
The ToolShed also reserves the right to decide which products are eligible for the GoodMates discount.
Milwaukee MX FUEL accessories are not eligible for the GoodMates discount.
Cancelation
You cannot cancel your order once it has been placed. Please contact your dispatch store as soon as possible if you need to make changes to your order.
Security
We use the secure Hosted Payment page solution from DP to process online orders. Customers can see their cards being authorized and debited in real time, all in an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) environment. DP is committed to protecting the security of your data.
Delivery
We will not deliver to a Post Office box or any address in which we deem suspicious. Courier parcels and bulk freight are mainly sent from our Hamiton facility, but we reserve the right to freight products from any of of our locations.
Generally, products are dispatched the next working day but may take up to 14 days to be delivered. Please contact us if you have not received your product within this time.
We will notify you if your product cannot be dispatched.
Delivery charges will be added to each order and shown as a separate item before you chose to enter your payment details and send the order to be processed within New Zealand.
Should your order incur an additional charge, we will advise you prior to processing your order.
Should you feel that your goods do not arrive in good condition, please feel free to contact us within 7 Days of receiving your poduct.
We are not responsible for loss or damage of goods that are delivered to an incorrect address.
Many products require some assembly.
Freight
FREE SHIPPING on orders over $150. Excludes rural areas.
$3.50 Flat Rate Shipping to send physical Gift Card purchases.
Non Rural charges for orders under $150 as follows:
0 - 25kg $7
25 - 30kg $49
30 - 100kg $79
100kg + $99
Rural charges are calculated as follows:
0 - 25kg $12.50
25 - 30kg $89
30 - 100kg $139
100kg + $159
The above prices are not applicable to all products and are subject to change on individual items.
Additional charges are applied for outlying islands eg. Waiheke, Stewart Island etc. You may be contacted after your payment has been received for extra shipping payments.
Title and Risk
Goods are at our risk until delivered to the address given for your purchase.
Returns and Refunds
The ToolShed is happy to refund or exchange products within 30 days of purchase or delivery if you change your mind* provided that you bring the product into your closest store and...
- A valid invoice including EFTPOS chit where applicable.
- The product is unused.
- The product is returned in its original packaging and can be re-sealed.
- Any included accessories are also returned.
All refunds will be made to the original tender type. Refunds must be made to the same card that was used for the original purchase.
We cannot provide a change of mind refund or exchange for non-stocked, specially ordered products.
Our returns policy is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ).
*Conditions apply to trade deals and any refunds will be made at The ToolShed’s discretion. Excludes any MX Fuel Products.
Freight will be refunded, but any return freight will be at the customer's expense.
Warranties
The ToolShed strives to put the best of care into sourcing suitable products for you to enjoy for a reasonable amount of time.
Under our guarantee, faulty items that meet our conditions of care and use will be repaired, replaced or a refund will be issued at The ToolShed’s discretion.
We will notify you via e-mail of the status of the replacement, repair, or refund once we have received and processed the returned item. If a refund is approved, you can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 7 business days.
The ToolShed will repair or replace any goods which fail to comply with Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Where the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 apply, these terms will be read subject to the application of that Act, and in the case of any conflict, the provisions of that Act will apply.
Our warranties cover manufacturing defects, please note that the guarantee does not cover faults arising from:
- Normal wear and tear.
- Accidental damage or mistreatment.

Warranty does not cover indirect or consequential damage resulting from the defects or inaccuracy or inoperativeness of the product.
All warranties for other brands supplied by The ToolShed are the responsibility of the New Zealand importer.
Warranties for Makita, HiKOKI, DEWALT and Milwaukee may only be valid if the tool is registered with the New Zealand importer, please consult their websites for warranty information.
Warranties shall not apply if products are bought for use by a hire company.

Limitation of Liability
The ToolShed are not liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages or loss of profit arising out of the use, or the inability to use the products on this site. This includes but is not limited to the loss of data or loss of profit, even if The ToolShed was advised of the possibility of such damages.
